The 'Call The Midwife' Christmas Special Photos Promise A Happy Holidays

What's that? It's not even Halloween yet? Lalalalala, Call the Midwife can't hear you. It's too busy getting ready for Christmas.

The popular PBS series already aired in the U.K. earlier this year, but due to 2020 filming delays is only just now airing on PBS. But that doesn't mean Call The Midwife is waiting to get back in the swing of things. Since the series' second season, it has aired a Christmas special every single year, one that is so popular even PBS does a day-and-date broadcast of it over here, one of the very few programs on which Public Television bestows that honor. The cast and crew have already been hard at work, and the first photos are now online.

Season 10 marks a decade on the air for Call The Midwife, and this new episode will be the tenth Christmas special the series has done. Because the BBC premieres the season in January, Call The Midwife's Christmas episodes are technically considered the start of the new season, unlike most shows, which do a Christmas episode as a bonus after the season has ended. (Looking at you, Downton Abbey). So the new special, which will technically be considered the start of Season 11, is the tenth special, despite the first season not having one.
