Enola Holmes was a franchise Netflix accidentally stumbled into after Warner Bros. Pictures decided it wasn't worth holding onto until theaters reopened in 2020. As a franchise series of movies, it's perfect fare for Netflix, starring three of its biggest stars from three of its biggest franchises — Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter. And though it might not be a big screen draw, the family-friendly version of Sherlock Holmes for teen girls is the perfect thing for streaming at home or over and over on weekends.
It took Netflix a bit to wrangle the rights to make a sequel, but the new installment is coming in November, and the adventure continues for the younger sister of the World's Most Famous Detective. Enola has a new problem to solve, one that has nothing to do with dead bodies or crime but with how to find her way out of the shadow of her older brother. Thankfully, her oldest brother, Mycroft, is off and out of her hair. But Sherlock is not only taking all of her cases, but his and hers are starting to intersect. Can the two put sibling rivalry aside and solve the case?
Check out the first trailer for the brand new sequel, which was released as the opener for Netflix's TUDUM presentation on Saturday.
