'Good Omens' Season 2 Officially Finishes Filming

Admittedly, when it was announced that a second season of Good Omens would be coming to Prime Video, fans were rightly a bit perplexed. (Over the moon, likely, but perplexed all the same.) Because the first season of the series, based on the beloved Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett novel of the same name, had kind of exhausted all the source material. The Anti-Christ was contained, the apocalypse averted, and everyone goes home happy, right?

But, since the lead characters are immortal and the series was a fairly decent hit for Amazon, it probably shouldn't surprise us that the folks in charge wanted to continue the adventures of bookish angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and his celestial life partner, the snarky demon Crowley (David Tennant). And Gaiman himself has long said that he and his late co-author Pratchett had discussed at some length what a sequel in this universe might look like. (Some of those ideas were incorporated into Season 1, in fact, such as the existence of Aziraphale's heavenly boss, the officious Archangel Gabriel.)

What that all means, obviously, is anyone's guess, and at the moment all we know about Season 2 is that it will apparently find Aziraphale and Crowley still happily living amongst the mortals they both find so interesting in London's SoHo neighborhood when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.

But, thankfully, we're one step closer to finding out. According to series director and co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon, filming on Season 2 is officially complete.
