'His Dark Materials' Season 2 Will Journey to New Worlds This November

HBO's lavish adaptation of His Dark Materials will officially return for its second season this November.

Based on the bestselling series from author Philip Pullman, Season 1 of the show introduced us to a Victorian alternate reality ruled by a theocratic group known as The Magisterium, powered by a mysterious substance called Dust, and full of creatures known as Daemons, human souls in adorable animal form that exist in tandem with their human halves.

The story follows a young girl named Lyra (Dafne Keene), whose search for a kidnapped friend leads her to discover a dangerous plot involving stolen children and dark experiments centered on Dust and the connection between humans and daemons. The Season 1 finale saw a distraught Lyra step through a portal into an entirely new world, chasing after her deadbeat father, Lord Asriel.

Season 2 will premiere on Monday, November 16 on both HBO and HBO Max.
