‘Sherlock’ Star Andrew Scott Joins ‘Fleabag’ Season 2

Moriarty has a new gig.

Andrew Scott, best known for playing Benedict Cumberbatch’s nemesis in Sherlock and a Bond villain opposite Daniel Craig, will join the cast of the highly anticipated second season of Phoebe Waller Bridge’s comedy-drama series Fleabag.

The casting news as announced this week, as filming kicked off on the series’ second season. (Finally!)

Fleabag follows the story of a complicated, messy young woman attempting to navigate modern life in London. The series debuted to widespread critical acclaim, and Waller-Bridge won a BAFTA for her portrayal of the titular Fleabag.

Regular Fleabag cast members Olivia Colman, Sian Clifford, Bill Paterson, Brett Gelman, Jenny Rainsford, and Hugh Skinner will return alongside Waller-Bridge.

"I can’t believe they let me do this AGAIN,” Waller-Bridge said in a statement. “I’m so happy to be back with the incredible Fleabag team and I’m as surprised as anyone about where this series has taken us… thank God for Andrew Scott."

The official filming announcement didn’t include much – really, any – information about Scott’s character, how many episodes the Sherlock actor might appear in, or really anything at all about his role.

But, that’s the fun of wondering, right?
