Cable network Spectrum has released the trailer for its latest original series, a British import called Angela Black starring former Downton Abbey award-winner Joanne Froggatt.

Like many former residents of Downton, Froggat has had a booked and busy resume since the doors of Highclere Castle closed. From her role as a female serial murderer in Dark Angel to turns in domestic thriller Liar and dystopian climate change drama The Commons, her range is clearly broad and her choices deeply interesting. Now in Angela Black, she plays the eponymous desperate to escape an abusive relationship and the question is: How far will she go to get out?

The six-part series also stars Game of Thrones alum Michiel Huisman, who plays Angela's husband, Olivier, and The Last Tree's Samuel Adewunmi who plays a private detective who upends her world when he informs her that her husband isn't the man he seems to be.

A co-production between Spectrum Originals and British network ITV, Angela Black initially aired across the pond last October. All six episodes are written by Harry and Jack Williams, co-founders of Two Brothers Pictures, the company behind shows like Fleabag and Back to Life.

“From the moment I first read Jack and Harry’s poignant and timely script, I was passionate about playing Angela,” Froggatt said in a statement. “Not only have the Williams brothers written a brilliant, edge of your seat thriller but also a story with so much heart that I know will connect with many. I feel very honored to have played Angela and I’m thrilled to be able to share Angela Black with viewers in the U.S. on Spectrum.”
