'The Madame Blanc Mysteries' Trailer Warms Up for Season 4

Christmas comes but once a year; however, when it comes to U.K. Christmas specials of fan-favorite series, it seems any time of year will do. For example, with the running exception of Call the Midwife, PBS has never aired any of the Christmas episodes from their imported and co-produced series in December that couldn't be tacked on to a full season and turned into a Very Special Finale Episode, or in rare cases — such as Grantchester Season 3 — a very special season premiere. However, in nearly all cases, those specials air within a reasonable waiting period; February or March, or occasionally ahead of the holidays in October, such as with Ghost Stories.

Until 2025, other networks and streamers, such as Netflix, AMC+, and BritBox, had all followed the example set by public broadcasting, as it had been America's leading importer of British cultural series for half a century. However, Acorn TV has decided to finally go its own way, breaking with tradition and airing The Madame Blanc Mysteries 2024 Christmas special a full six months after it aired in the U.K., arriving as part of the show's premiere in the heat of July.

Considering the fictional Southern French coastal town of Saint Victoire isn't exactly snowbound, holding the winter holiday episode for warmer times probably won't feel that odd. And perhaps it will work in Acorn TV's favor. After all, Death in Paradise is a hit on BritBox in January because people want to watch beach scenes when it's freezing outside. Perhaps a Christmas treat at the height of summer will be just what Jean White needs.

Here is the overall synopsis for the fourth season.

The fourth season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries returns to the wonderful world of Sainte Victoire, packed with unusual antiques and objéts d’art, murder, mystery, sunshine, and laughter. Jean White is navigating a fledgling romance with her sidekick, Dom Hayes. Get ready for a brand-new season packed with sun-drenched murder mysteries, a budding romance, and… two 75-year-old hotties on jet skis!
